How to create a good CV

Learn to structure a clear, professional CV and oriented to what companies really seek.

CV remains an essential part

Even with digital platforms, online profiles and matching systems, CV remains one of the first elements analyzed by companies and recruiters.

A good CV isn't just a list of experiences. It's a clear synthesis of your path, your skills and the value you can bring to an organization.

1. Start with a clear professional summary

At the top of the CV, it includes a small presentation with 3 to 5 lines.

You must answer three questions:

  • Who are you professionally?
  • What major skills do you have?
  • What kind of opportunity are you looking for?

It avoids generic phrases such as “I’m dynamic and working”. You prefer something concrete.

Example:

“Recently licensed in Management with interest in digital marketing, data analysis and business development. Academic experience in communication projects, Excel domain and social media tools.”

2. Adapts CV to vacancy

You should not always send the same CV for every opportunity.

Before you apply, read the vacancy and identify:

  • Compulsory powers;
  • requested tools;
  • the professional field;
  • type of function;
  • seniority;
  • location or working model.

Then adjust your CV to highlight what's most relevant to that slot.

3. Gives priority to clarity

A CV should be easy to read.

Use:

  • clear titles;
  • organised dates;
  • short bullets;
  • simple language;
  • relevant information;
  • maximum of 1 to 2 pages.

Avoids long blocks of text. The recruiter should be able to quickly understand your profile.

4. Show results whenever possible

Every time you do, it turns responsibilities into results.

for:

“Management of social networks.”

Prefer:

“Planning and publishing content for Instagram and LinkedIn, contributing to increased brand communication regularity.”

Even in internships or academic projects, it tries to show impact.

5. Includes relevant skills

Skills are essential for matching.

Divide them, if it makes sense, into:

  • technical skills;
  • tools;
  • languages;
  • Soft skills.

Example:

Technical skills: data analysis, digital marketing, copywriting.

Tools: Excel, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics.

Languages: Portuguese, English.

Soft skills: communication, organization, critical thinking.

6. Review errors before uploading

Spell errors or inconsistent formatting may harm the application.

Before sending:

  • confirms contacts;
  • verifies dates;
  • review grammar;
  • exports in PDF;
  • Gives the file a professional name.

Example:

CV Name Name.pdf

Conclusion

A good CV should be clear, relevant and opportunity-oriented. More than showing you everything you've done, it should show you what makes sense for the job you're applying for.
